Dr.
Eldon Hastings, B.A., DDS.,- Founding Director
Dr.
Hastings has practiced general dentistry in Arizona since
1969. Dr. Hastings is a graduate of the Loma Linda
University School of Dentistry, and received his B.A.
degree from Brigham Young University.
He graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Special Agent Training Academy and served as a Special Agent
from 1962 to 1965. He was a member of the Gilbert,
Arizona Town Council from 1985 to 1987 and served as
Vice-Mayor in Gilbert from 1987 to 1989.
Dr. Hastings has served as a member of the East Valley
Mental Health Association, Desert Samaritan Hospital
Advisory Board, American Academy of Preventive Dentistry,
and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a
member in good standing of the American Dental Association,
the Arizona Dental Association and the Central Arizona
Dental Society.
Deborah, D.A.,
-Lead Instructor
Deborah has over 30 years of dental assisting experience.
For 7 years she was an instructor at the SIU Dental School, teaching
dental students how to work with dental assistants, and how
to utilize the sit down 4-handed
technique.
She is a national board Certified Dental Assistant and Arizona
State board certified in dental radiography.
Deborah is currently the lead instructor at the
American Institute of Dental Assisting, and has been teaching here
since 2002.
Referring to her career, Deborah Ellen says that "Being a dental assistant for over 30 years has
widened my career in a field that is exciting, challenging,
and fulfilling".
Brenda, D.A., - Instructor
Brenda has been a dental assistant since 1998. She has taken
many continuing education classes to expand her dental
health education. Dental
radiation health & safety, nitrous oxide, infection control,
OSHA and HIPAA for the dental office, and many insurance
workshops. Her education has given her the ability to excel
in her career, and has opened many doors which allow her to
continue to succeed.
Tammy, D.A., - Instructor

Tammy has been a dental assistant since she graduated
from dental assisting school in 1988, and received her
Arizona x-ray board certification at that time. She
regularly attends continuing education classes to keep up
with the current dental technology and developments.
Tammy is passionate about her career, and is delighted to
have the opportunity through the American Institute of
Dental Assisting to teach people the skills they need for a
great career.
Julia Wheatley, D.A., - Instructor
Julia received her B.S. from Utah Valley University.
She graduated from the American Institute of Dental
Assisting in 2002. She then assisted the school, and is
now the program director. She is also an instructor
for the program.
